After lots of planning and baking I held a fundraiser day on Saturday 8th September in my local village hall. I’ll be honest I was not expecting a huge turnout having only lived here since June, plus I have never done anything like this before. After setting up with James, my Mum & Nan, I nipped home to pick up my camera ready for the olympic torch photography bit. When I returned to a buzzing hall full of people I was so chuffed!!

I swiftly jumped into action with the queue waiting for their photos to be taken and I don’t think I stopped for about 2 hours! Huge thank you to Matt Usher for the loan of his Torch. It was a huge success!

Mum and I baked loads of cakes for a cake stall. We had scones for afternoon tea, games, table top sale and book sale. We ran a raffle and a silent auction too!

Thank you to Ralph for your table top sale donations and Jeni for yours, plus the maternity clothes for the girls in Uganda. Also thanks to Alison for jumping right in to help with teas and coffees and Claire for manning the games, everyone was fantastic!

We raised a whopping £550 which is more than double what I was expecting!

Raffle Winners!! 118 Peter 2x Saints tickets – 16 Vicky family shoot – 42 Thelma bottle of Cava – 207 Rachael bottle of Rioja – 262 B Brown Decanter – 254 Sue Casserole dish – 95 Rachael basket of smellies! Well done guys!!
This lad was almost speechless with the Torch in his hands, was so in awe! lovely to make someone’s day AND raise money at the same time!
Just before we packed up, I handed James the camera and had a bit of fun too…
